At Balsam Realty, our work is grounded in the belief that community matters not only in real estate but in daily life. This belief comes into focus each November when Freeport gathers for the annual Freeport Community Services Thanksgiving Dinner.
Now in its 22nd year, this event brings together hundreds of neighbors, volunteers, home bakers and local businesses. This Thanksgiving, nearly 200 people came to Freeport Community Services to sit at shared tables, enjoy a warm meal and listen to live music. Dozens more received meals delivered to their homes. From the roasted turkey and mashed potatoes to the many homemade pies, it was a collaborative effort shaped by people who care about this town and one another.
We are proud to have founded this event in 2003 and to continue to support it each year. It was founded on the simple belief held by Jonas's grandmother, Ema, that no one should be alone on Thanksgiving.
We are proud to live in a place where connection is not just a word. It is something we see in action in classrooms filled with donated food, in kitchens turning out trays of vegetables and in conversations between neighbors who may have never met before.
